Relevantly Speaking – April 15, 2009
We start our second week of the big book giveaway! We’re giving away six copies of James Connor’s new book “The Perfection of Marketing.” All you need to do for a chance to win is post a comment in the shownotes. Easy enough right? DO IT!
One of the things James talks about is when companies should look at putting money into their marketing efforts. We asked Stephanie Agresta, Diane Deseta of White Knight and Chris Noble of Kompolt what they would tell companies that are afraid to put their money into online marketing.
This week we’re highlighting Dish Network. It’s Advaliant offer #2182. It has a $12.00 payout on a first page submit. Additionally, it’s converting at an amazing 9%! Login to the Advaliant Platform today to get started.
Itay Paz of Affilicon continues to travel the globe to get a sense of what’s going on with affiliate marketing. We check in with him this week from Stockholm, Sweden.
Finally, don’t forget to stop by MediaTrust’s panel at ad:tech in San Francisco called: Performance Marketing–Getting the Most from Your Marketing Dollar in a Tough Economy. It’s Wednesday, April 22nd from 1:30 -2:30 in room 3009.
See you in San Francisco!

“You have to be a good marketer when times are good. But, you have to be a great marketer when times are tough.”
In these times, these words have never rung truer. Great video and I look forward to reading the book regardless if I win a free copy.

Swimming against the tide is what give an entrepreneur immense pleasure & Recession is just the right time. I agree, power centers will get redistributed . But you shouldn’t have past baggage to slow you down and only accountable marketing efforts will work..

Having to slow down marketing options during a recession is not a choice but needed to avoid other budget cuts by many companies.
Companies always tend to chop the marketing budget pretty quick because they don’t know exactly how they benefit from there marketing so they don’t mind loosing it as much as other departments. That’s the great thing about tracking performance based marketing, you know exactly what you are paying for and will realize that every dollar spent is bringing in more and thus certainly shouldn’t be cut.

The book sounds to be useful. I have not got the one here in Lithuania, but hope it will not take too long to have a chance to read it.

Like Connor says, “In our lives we are likely to see a recession five or six times”. I think only a fool would stop marketing in down times. Just a matter of how crafty and lean you get. Sign me up for a book please.
